The 15th meeting of the Shariah Supervisory Committee of Eastern Bank PLC (EBL-SSC) was held on March 12, 2026, at the Bank’s Head Office in Gulshan, Dhaka. The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the Committee, Mufti Muinul Islam. EBL-SSC Members Mufti Abu Bakar Siddique Nabil and Mufti Gazi Sanaullah Rahmani, along with the Secretary of EBL-SSC Muhammad Munirul Huq, attended the meeting. The Bank’s Additional Managing Director Ahmed Shaheen, Head of Planning, Strategy and Governance Ashraf Uz Zaman, Deputy Chief of EBL Islamic Banking A.K.M. Mizanur Rahman, and executives from EBL Islamic Banking and the Finance and Accounts Divisions were present as invitees.

The meeting approved, from a Shariah perspective, the Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet of the Islamic Banking Wing of Eastern Bank for the year 2025, the finalization of the profit rate for Mudarabah depositors, the Annual Shariah Audit Plan 2026, and the Annual Shariah Compliance Report 2025.

It is noteworthy that Eastern Bank has been providing Islamic banking services through Islamic Banking Windows in 20 branches across the country, along with Islamic Banking Helpdesks in all remaining branches.
